It’s been an exciting year of growth and change at Ignitec. We’re welcoming new people, strengthening our leadership team and building the capacity to deliver increasingly ambitious engineering projects. As we grow, we’re creating opportunities for the people who have helped us get here to shape what comes next.

We’re proud to announce the promotion of Greg Guyll to Engineering Manager.

Over the past five years, Greg has grown alongside Ignitec, contributing to projects for clients ranging from start-ups to global organisations. He brings a breadth of technical knowledge and experience spanning technologies, processes, industries and applications, together with a deep understanding of our people and capabilities.

Greg helps clients piece together what a project needs to achieve and how to make it possible. Drawing on that broad experience, he identifies technologies and approaches whose relevance may not be immediately obvious, bringing them together into a coherent engineering solution. In his new role, he applies that thinking across multiple teams, shaping projects and bringing together the people and expertise to deliver them.

Ben Mazur, CEO of Ignitec

“Greg has always believed in what we’re building and wanted to be a central part of it. Seeing him grow alongside the company, develop his skills and step into this role is something I’m personally very proud of.

“He brings the pieces together, and now he’s doing that across our engineering teams. He’s becoming one of the architects of Ignitec’s future, helping shape the work we deliver, the standards we uphold and the company we’re building.”

Ben Mazur
CEO

His appointment is another important step towards our ambition of building a global engineering company recognised for world-class work.

We have begun introducing a structure of multidisciplinary engineering teams, known internally as pods, bringing together mechanical, electronics and embedded expertise. This gives us a repeatable structure for growth: focused teams with clear ownership, supported by the technical expertise and leadership of the wider business.

Pod leads coordinate delivery within their teams, while technical leads oversee specialist direction, quality and training within their disciplines. Greg leads across the whole engineering function, bringing together mechanical, electronics and embedded engineering so that decisions across disciplines support a coherent solution. Working closely with our technical leads, he helps teams understand the dependencies between their work, resolve challenges that span disciplines and maintain a shared technical direction.

Alongside that technical coordination, Greg coordinates team leaders, allocates work and manages engineering resources across the business. He works with clients to understand what their projects need to achieve, shapes the overall engineering approach and defines work packages that bring the right disciplines together, then supports our teams through delivery.

For clients, this means greater capacity to support broader programmes, with clear technical direction and coordinated delivery.

Craig Surgey, Managing Director of Ignitec

“Our clients need confidence that we understand what they’re trying to achieve and carry that understanding through to delivery. Greg turns complex requirements into a clear engineering approach and brings our teams together around it. In this role, he makes sure they have the direction, resources and support to deliver on our commitments, giving clients a consistent experience as we grow.”

For our engineers, it creates opportunities to take ownership, develop as leaders and see their expertise influence the wider business.

As we build greater depth into our management and engineering teams, Greg plays a pivotal role in defining and upholding the standards that underpin our ambition.

Greg Guyll, Engineering Manager at Ignitec

“I’m excited to step into this role and take a greater part in leading Ignitec’s engineering function. Having grown with the company, it means a lot to help shape where we go next and support the people I’ve worked alongside.

“We have a huge amount of knowledge across the team, and I’m looking forward to bringing that expertise together to tackle increasingly ambitious projects. For me, world-class engineering means understanding the problem properly, making sound technical decisions and following them through to a result our clients can rely on. Helping our teams put that into practice consistently will be at the heart of my role.”

Engineering Manager

The whole team would like to congratulate Greg and wish him every success in his new role. It’s a well-deserved milestone and another significant step as we prepare Ignitec for continued growth and international expansion.

At Ignitec, we specialise in connected systems for critical industries, bringing together electronics, embedded software and mechanical engineering to develop products for demanding, regulated and hazardous environments.
