The Challenge:

Developing a wearable device with accurate gesture recognition capabilities posed a significant challenge for VybPro, a health tech startup based in Bristol. They recognised the importance of enabling wearers to interact with the device seamlessly using hand gestures, but faced hurdles in implementing the technology effectively. VybPro approached Ignitec to overcome these challenges and create a wearable solution that would set new standards in gesture recognition.

What We Did:

Ignitec worked closely with VybPro to turn their vision into reality. Our team of experts collaborated extensively with the client to understand their specific requirements and design goals. Leveraging our multi-disciplinary capabilities, we developed the hardware necessary for the wearable device, ensuring optimal ergonomics and user-friendliness.

To enable accurate and reliable gesture recognition, we designed and implemented advanced algorithms. These algorithms allowed the device to interpret hand movements precisely, distinguishing between different gestures such as answering a phone, adjusting glasses, or scratching the nose. Our in-house expertise in gesture recognition algorithms ensured seamless integration into the wearable device.

In order to achieve a rapid and cost effective solution, we incorporated off-the-shelf wristbands into the design. This approach not only reduced manufacturing costs but also improved the availability and accessibility of the wearable solution.
