Job title: Software Developer
Based at: Ignitec, 1 The Powerhouse, Bradley Stoke, Bristol, BS32 4RU
Working hours: 8:00-16:00 Monday – Friday with flexitime
Start Date: ASAP
Experience: 1-4 years experience
Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 Depending on experience

Ignitec is a product design, research and technology consultancy based in Bradley Stoke, North Bristol. We are recruiting for a software developer to join our cross disciplinary design and research team. Our work is predominantly in prototyping and developing exciting new concepts in the medical, defence and scientific space. The successful candidate will be working alongside other designers and engineers on the team, developing early stage proof of concepts, technical demonstrators and products going out into the market. You will need to be comfortable working alongside electronic engineers and embedded engineers to integrate electronic hardware with other systems.

Required skills
  • Coding, testing and debugging custom desktop control software for both technology demonstrators and mass produced devices
  • Integrate and validate software with new product designs
  • Provide post production support
  • Data capture and display and hardware control
  • Interface with hardware design and development
  • Solid programming experience in C# (C and C++ is desirable)
  • Familiarity with software configuration management tools, defect tracking tools, and peer review
  • Strong documentation and writing skills
Preferred skills
  • Experience with plotting real time sensor data, especially Sci Chart
  • Experience in hands-on development and troubleshooting on embedded targets highly advantageous
  • Working with STM32 micro controllers
  • Ability to work with C and C++
