Job title: Embedded Engineer
Based at: Ignitec, 1 The Powerhouse, Bradley Stoke, Bristol, BS32 4RU
Working hours: 8:00-16:00 Monday – Friday with flexitime
Start Date: ASAP
Experience: 1-4 years experience
Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 Depending on experience

Ignitec is a product design, research and technology consultancy based in Bradley Stoke, North Bristol. We are recruiting for an embedded engineer to join our cross disciplinary design and research team. Our work is predominantly in prototyping and developing exciting new concepts in the medical, defence and scientific space. The successful candidate will be working alongside other designers and engineers on the team, developing early stage proof of concepts, technical demonstrators and products going out into the market. You will need to be comfortable working alongside electronic engineers and software engineers to integrate electronic hardware with other systems.

Requirements
  • Coding, testing and debugging on both technology demonstrators and mass produced devices
  • Analysing and enhancing efficiency, stability and scalability of system resources
  • Integrate and validate new product designs
  • Support software QA and optimize I/O performance
  • Provide post production support
  • Interface with hardware design and development
  • Assess third party and open source software
  • Proven working experience in software engineering
  • Experience in hands-on development and troubleshooting on embedded targets
  • Solid programming experience in C and C++
  • Familiarity with software configuration management tools, defect tracking tools, and peer review
  • Excellent knowledge of OS coding techniques, IP protocols, interfaces and hardware subsystems
  • Solid understanding of electronic principles and ability to read schematics and data sheets for components
  • Strong documentation and writing skills
Preferred skills
  • Working with STM32 micro controllers
  • Ability to work with C# highly desirable
